Scrumptious Saturdays- Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies

OK so I am so in the cooking mood lately. I cannot get enough of it. So I am also going to add Scrumptious Saturday. This day will include all kinds of desserts. For today's dessert I found a this on the Blonde Ambition In the Kitchen Blog. These are great cookies and my kids LOVED them. I know that some of the directions are weird but follow them to the letter. They work and make the cookies turn out great.
Thick and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies 2 cups plus 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 12 Tbsp (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted & cooled until warm (this is a must) 1 cup brown sugar, packed 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 large egg plus 1 yolk 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Adjust oven racks to upper & lower -middle positions & heat oven to 325. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. (I did not do this but I will next time as they seem to stick a little)
Whisk dry ingredients together; set aside. With electric mixer, or by hand, mix butter & sugars until thoroughly combined. Beat in egg, yolk and vanilla until combined. Add dry ingredients & beat at low speed just until combined. Stir in chips. Roll scant 1/2 cup dough into ball. Holding dough ball in fingertips of both hands, pull into 2 equal halves. Rotate halves 90 degrees and, with jagged surfaces facing up, place formed dough onto cookie sheet, leaving ample room between each ball.-
Bake, reversing position of cookie sheets halfway through baking, until cookies are light golden brown and outer edges start to harden yet centers are still soft & puffy. *This took about 16 minutes in MY oven but start at 10 minutes and check from there. Do NOT overbake! Cool cookies on sheets until able to lift without breaking and place on wire rack to cool.

I am so making these! Have you made them with regular butter or only unsalted? Thanks for great new recipes!

I am SO excited to try them! What a good idea. I'll be checking every Saturday! I'm in California, in YOUR city! I'll be here until Saturday. Email me and let's see if we can find a time to get together!

Hey Christi... your girls are so cute! I don't know if you know, but Jill is going to be here June-July! Do you want to plan a cousin dinner? (Is Rachel going to be down during that time?)
